Q: Is there an in-field test to determine what kind of paint is on my pool?

A: You may try a small amount of xylene which will soften a chlorinated rubber, causing it to "string." It will not have any impact on an epoxy and it will only soften an acrylic but will not cause it to "string." If you still have any concerns regarding the type of paint, please take a chip in to your local Ramuc dealer for confirming analysis.
