Q: Are dark colors such as Royal Blue, Dark Blue, and Black recommended for application over the entire pool surface?

A: Ramuc recommends only using dark colors for accents such as striping, drain designation, depth markings, etc. Dark colors will fade rather rapidly, could produce streaking or uneven coloring, and can blister.
